Low bookings this year
Hi Guys,
We are in Portsmouth in the UK and have always been very busy with bookings in the summer but this year seems very quiet. I have reduced the price but there is only so low I want to go to make it worth the effort. Is anyone lese finding this or is there something I can do differently?

@Melanie1186 just about everywhere in the UK has had an increase in STR properties because a) You don't need an EPC, b) You can claim mortgage tax relief on FHLs and c) People saw high profits last year and wanted a part of it.
As long as you can survive a little longer the market should correct itself soon.

@Melanie1186 just about everywhere in the UK has had an increase in STR properties because a) You don't need an EPC, b) You can claim mortgage tax relief on FHLs and c) People saw high profits last year and wanted a part of it.
As long as you can survive a little longer the market should correct itself soon.

Hi @Melanie1186 Melanie, also here in Venice I am getting very low views on my listing, considering the city, which is always full, I I've come to the conclusion that this problem is due mainly to the recent May Airbnb release and consequent changes to the search algorithm ...

as you know we're in the middle of a major recession so demand for bookings have fallen in many areas in the uk.
plus as @Mike-And-Jane0 says many parts of the UK are suffering from saturated markets
have you looked at listing on other platforms and taking direct bookings?
relying on a single marketing channel such as Airbnb is always risky but particularly at a time of falling demand and oversaturated markets
hope things pick up for you
