Wow. Wish I had an answer. I give a deep discount for monthly stays. That seems to help.
I recently hosted four individuals from a European company. It was a third party booking but they had really good reviews. They stayed a year (renewed in 6 week increments).
Some of my colleagues suggested “Furnished Finders” for visiting nurses but with mixed success.
I do know that universities and corporations sometimes have guests coming for extended stays. Also some people have to move temporarily due to insurance repairs or home renovations.
May have to be creative but I do know there’s a need. Check pricing to make sure you’re in the ballpark. I’m a visiting professor but opted for hotels close to campus because the local Airbnb’s in the area were actually more expensive than the colleges negotiated hotel rates.
Might be worth offering local realtors and universities a special discount for clients? Or hospitals with patients with families needing extended stay to be close to a relative?
Hoping Airbnb will follow through in creating an extended stay portal for hosts like you to be more easily found. I heard that’s being considered in light of the New York ban,
