Scam alert! How can I make sure a listing is real?

This will be my first time using Airbnb so I'm a bit weary about listings being fake.

What can I do to make sure a listing is real and not a scam?

What should I be looking out for?

@Ayo12  It's a scam. That's not an Airbnb URL-it's a fake scam site.

@Ayo12 Good thing you didn't send them any money. But Airbnb can't pull the link down, because it isn't an Airbnb link. It has nothing to do with them.

found this nice listing, it perfect. but is it real. the location and price is so great but seems to good to be true. also no reviews.

This looks like an amazing place which I am hoping to book for next year for a week for a sports team. But no one has stayed at the property. It would be a great peace to mind to know if AirBnB could follow this up. In addition, what kind of protections are we offered if we book over AirBnB and its a scam?

@Keith353  The URL isn't fake- that's the official Airbnb site. Looks like a legitimate listing to me. The hosts are property managers, have 9 other listings on Airbnb and quite legitimate looking, good reviews (did you look at their reviews for other places they manage?). This property you are looking at has no reviews yet because it's newly listed. But the hosts seem to have a good history.

Why not send them an Inquiry message (Click on "contact host" under their listing decsription), which doesn't obligate you at all,  asking any questions you may have and see if you get a timely response that puts your mind at ease.

hi everyone! been scammed a few times on here...what does every one think of this!

they claiming its a new property on here and therefore thats why there are no reviews, they have sent the address but the images are making me feel a bit wary of the listing. 

Any thoughts?.....
