Seeking Advice on First Reservations and Listing Improvement

Hi Cervando here from NYC. I just listed my first unit on airbnb. I am new to hosting in Airbnb. I would like to know how long did it take you guys to get your first reservation? Can I do anything different with my listing to have it stand out more? Is it too pricey? I researched my area and with the amenities and unit I have the price made sense. I just listed it this pass Thursday.

At first a bit of patience nowadays is helpful, in time the market will 'speak' to you and then it is worth 'listening'.

Thank you for the reply @Fred13 . Let me ask you - have you experienced any “waste of time” bookings on here? Example: a potential guest books your listing for September 20th to 26th and on the September 19th they cancel because you have your cancellation policy on flexible.

is it better to have your cancellation policy on strict? What do you recommend?
