Our Airbnb calendar is linked to several accommodation providers, some of which we no longer wish to use. How do we ensure they cannot see our bookings? There seems to be no way of doing this other than by asking them to and trusting that they have, which is not failsafe. There is plenty advice on how to unsync a calendar when it's on a site that you control, but I can't find anything on how to remove from sites that are not your own.
Any help welcome.
Thanks!
Just remove the sync to other sites on your your Airbnb Calendar:
Sync Calendar

Go to:
Calendar
Availability (scroll to bottom)
Connect Calendars/Edit
Disconnect Calendar
Thank you for this! Does that work if you have provided someone with the link to your calendar rather than obtained a link from them to connect it yourself? Airbnb will know it is being used elsewhere? Apologies for sounding slow! Just that my last cleaning company told me they still had it showing on their app even although it wasn't listed on either my 'connect calendar' or 'edit connected'.
That I'm not sure about. I believe as long as you disconnect their link to your Airbnb calendar, they will not longer have access.
Did you perhaps add them as Co Hosts on the listing? If so, you would need to remove them as Co Host.
Hi @Kate2917!
Happy Monday! Hope everything is going well and I wish you the best for this new week. 😊
I'm not sure if you did, but did you check Joan's answer? Hopefully, her help clarified your question.
Let us know if you need any other help,
Alex
Hello Joan
Thank you for this. Unfortunately I don't have a link to remove or edit. I have (as suggested by Airbnb) copied the ical link to my Airbnb calendar and provided the cleaning company with this. The cleaning company, in turn, does not have a link to give me. Their app does not facilitate this. And I have no way of checking if the link is active on their system. It is taken entirely on trust that they will remove it from their system if we stop using them. They need the link to my calendar in order to keep track of changeovers and so I am obliged to supply it if I want their services (this is common practice for other cleaning services too). It would be helpful and reassuring to be able to refresh the calendar link each year to prevent (or ensure) calendars are not where we wouldn't want them to be.
But thank you for trying to help, it is appreciated.
Hi @Kate2917
on airbnb my cleaners are added to the listing as a cleaner so they have access to the calendar and booking confirmations only .
Thank you, Helen, that sounds like a solution, although they say they use their app for all their clients. I will look into that. I would add that I have no complaints with our cleaning company; it's just something that flagged up and for now is only a minor concern going forward.
Hmmm...this is the first I have heard of this with only one-way calendar link to outside vendors. Some Hosts use the Google calendar and only provide that link to outside parties including their cleaners. Others give them Co Host access, but it is restricted to calendar view only. Not sure that would be a good idea in this case. What is the name of the cleaning company App (if you are willing to share)?
Do you have a contract with the company and what does it say in the termination section?
This is the app they use - not much information. It appears to be called Snip? I shall try the co-host thing although this may not work for them if their staff all work off the app.
Thanks again!
