Vale Lock Assure 2

Hi everyone,

We are new Airbnb hosts and have our first guests 12/21.  We have installed the Vale Assure 2 locks and I am reading that they do not integrate and work properly with Airbnb.  Does anyone have a solution to this problem as of yet?  Does anyone have a better option besides paying for a third party app to send codes automatically or change the locks completely!!  Is this a solution with the Winter 2023 update?

Thank you for your help!

We use Schlage locks.  I change the codes remotely.  The only problem is that our cable times out when not in use so I must have someone in the unit to reset the cable from time to time.

@Brianne46  Why don't you just send the codes manually?

You haven't made clear how you program the codes. Can you do it remotely? Do you live on or near the property? I send guests a check-in message prior to their arrival, and I include their code in that message. It's not that much trouble.

We will have to send manually.  The point is..... there is a function that is supposed to integrate these existing locks and send an automatic codes for new bookings without having to send manually.  It auto selects codes and sets timing for dates of the reservation.  We are very busy people and don't necessarily have the time to do this every single booking.  So the point is, it would be easier if the Airbnb function worked properly.

@Brianne46  The lock I use has a "bridge" so I can program codes and control it remotely, but  I had so many problems with the bridge connectivity that I simply disconnected it, and now I send codes manually.

My practice is to make the code the last 4 digits of the guests' cell phone. If you are able to program the lock to issue codes that way, you could simply inform guests that their code is that in the check-in information, and then not actually send a code, if that makes sense.

Are you able to program the way that the lock creates codes?

BTW, on Amazon it says that that lock works with AirBnB. Have you had their tech support involved to see what's not working?

Hmmmm...

@Brianne46 The Yale Assure Lock (previous model to the new Yale Assure 2) integrated well with the Airbnb Platform via the Yale App by tapping the "Works With" and choosing the Airbnb link. Have you connected your Yale Assure 2 lock in the Yale App with Airbnb? This is how the lock generates automatic codes with Airbnb. Is that the issue?

Yale and Schlage locks will be part of the new smart lock integration in the Winter Release for US & Canada but is not available yet. The Yale Assure 2 should integrate now and automatically generate codes for guests.
