What is the procedure to have AirBNB pay taxes to me directly to me?
What is the procedure to have AirBNB pay taxes to me directly to me instead of remitting it directly to the British Columbia Government for the PST and the City of Vancouver for the MRDT? Effectively the government gets the tax twice. Thanks for any assistance.
@Mike-And-Jane0 AirBNB remits the tax automatically to the governments. But, there is no connection to our account as it is a general fund. As such, I have to pay tax on the revenue we receive since there is no direct record that the money has been paid.
@Mark1182 This makes no sense. Can you demand under freedom of information to see the agreement between the government and Airbnb. There must be information in there you can use to avoid double payment
