Why are we continually having change simply for change sake.

I am submitting this post to possibly help other hosts who may be confused as I was for a while.

I had been trying for a couple of hours to access my Transaction history but, it appeared to have entirely disappeared from my profile!

I have previously accessed it via the drop down box from Menu in the top toolbar but, now when I hit Menu,  the drop down box no longer displays Transaction History........

I was on the point of ringing support when I studied the options now available in the drop-down box, and as soon as I tapped Earnings......there was my transaction history.

So to save you a bit of angst, stop looking for Transaction History, tap Earnings instead......ok!

Can anyone provide an even half sensible argument for this alteration?

At times I feel like Airbnb are actually baiting us.

Cheers........Rob

Hello @Robin4

Personally, I like going into "Insights" seen on your tool bar (computer only)  to see my earnings where you'll find additional statistics too although the data concerning dates reserved is way over the actual figure of days actually rented for many.   Some of the information can only be accessed after receiving a four digit security code from Airbnb but there is a great graph that shows you how much you have earned per month.

All the best

@Joelle43

Yeah agree Joelle, although as you say the earnings are the only accurate stats.

This is probably the graph you mentioned.....

Our earnings are consistent year round. Our only light months are February, June and December when we block the listing and spend time with our family interstate.

A nice feature is the ability to scroll back over the last 5 years and compare earnings month by month by simply hitting the back arrow.

We also do about $2,500 per year in bookings not related to Airbnb which gives us around $28,000 a year which comes in really handy because, we spent our retirement when Ade was diagnosed with MS in 1994. We spent a couple of decades travelling because we knew we wouldn't be able to do it in our later years.

Coupled with our other investments and our eligibility for a part retirement pension that gives us a nice comfortable quality of life we would not have if it wasn't for Airbnb.

I bag Airbnb about lots of things I think they could do better, but I am very thankful for their involvement and the wonderful experiences they have introduced into my life.

Cheers........Rob

Hello @Robin4

Yes that's exactly the graph I was thinking of and yours looks very good I may add - good for you but realise also how much work and effort that must represent too.

It's great that you can balance the time between bookings to be with family and friends.  It sounds like you have a great mindset and I would do well to learn from you so thank you for sharing.

My best to you Robin,
Joëlle
