Airbnb have been sending me pop ups for weeks saying if i did not register for a special hosting number in Isle Sur La Sorgue, Vaucluse, France, my flat would be blocked. The trouble is my flat is not in isle sur la Sorgue! It is in another town where this registration number is not required. My case seems to have been put in the 'too hard to bothe with' box. I have been literally lied to by the support team (for example saying ignore the pop ups you will not be blocked', and now despite half a dozen open threads on my messages, and many phone calls, i have been blanked by them.
Any ideas of how to move beyond the help desk to somebody who might actually do something?
As background, some towns in France where tourism is particularly high and locals find it hard to find somewhere to live, this special registrationo number has been introduced. You are required by airbnnb and other platforms to display this on your listing. Trouble is I am not in one of those towns. My town does not require them. On speaking to the authorities in France, what airbnb is requiring me to do, a in register my listing in a town which is not where the flat is located, is unlawful.
Hello @Jane913 . The work of the support department, which is, to put it mildly, insufficient, is greatly influenced by the administrators of this forum. So stick to this thread here.
Please help Jane @Bhumika , @Paula , @Rebecca, @Emilie , @Helen3 , @Joan2709
I feel like AI is doing a lot of bad work.
Good luck @Jane913 .
Thank you so much Marcin. Any help gratefully received.
sorry I can't really help as your profile shows you just as a guest with no link to your listing @Jane913 so I can't see the listing
personally I would post publicly on Airbnb's social media .
Hello @Jane913
As a host listed in France, may I ask in which town your listing is located? Why are Airbnb telling you that it's in L'Isle sur la Sorgue if it's located elsewhere? Is that the town showing up on your listing? Love this part of France ❤️ There is no listing under your profil.
Airbnb require two numbers from us:
Presumably you have applied for a numero SIRET? Do you just have the one pop up showing?
I'm sure you are aware of the new "anti Airbnb law" also called loi Le Meur that is effective as of January 1st 2025 which adds even more restrictions and extra loops to jump through to host legally?
Things are changing very fast in France but elsewhere too so if you haven't spoken to them recently, it's important to double check with your local town hall if there haven't been any recent changes. It's a complex situation and not all towns are up to speed.

Joelle, thank you so much for your reply. That is kind.
My appartment is located in Saumane de Vaucluse, near I'Isle sur la Sorgue. Isle requires registration for this new number, Saumane does not. I just do not know why I am being told to register in Isle sur la Sorgue. I called both Mairies yesterday who say I do not need to register. I am already up to date with what i need, numero SIRET etc,
And yes this is a stunning part of France!!
@Jane913 @Some French hosts in your situation have had success in entering their SIRET in lieu of the other number. Worth a shot maybe?!!🤞
