We are adding a sofa bed to our cottage so it can sleep 4 rather than 2, but now it doesn't show up on the 2 guest search - but I see others nearby who show up on both searches with different prices! How does this work please? Do I need to list the same property twice? And then how would you sync calendars? thanks!
@Katy189 When I search using 2 and then 4 guests, your listing shows up. Not sure why you cannot see it, but one thing I am always told to do if the system does not react as expected is to clear my history. Lovely cottage!!
belated thanks Linda!
Hi Katy, I just did a general Cupar search, and you came up in first position and listings below you are for varying bed combinations......
That screenshot was just putting in your area with no other information. A total of 101 properties.
When I put in '2 guests' as a search filter, this is what I see.....
You still come up in 1st position on the search page even though your listing states 4 guests!
So there is nothing wrong with your visibility Katy.
It may be that you computer is getting 'lazy' and bringing up pages from your history when you do a listing search instead of refreshing each time.
I would suggest you clear your browsing history and your 'cookies' ....clear your cache. What this will do is make your computer search the internet for the required information instead of taking a short-cut and bringing it up from previous searches.!
Rest assured if someone looks in your area Katy, they will see your listing!
Cheers......Rob
thank you so much Rob, that is very reasssuring! Great to be at the top! I saw someone else where they came up on both searches for the same property with two different prices - higher for 4 than 2 - do you know how this is possible and should I be doing that? Will sort out my cookies too!
Hope all the fires go out soon, its so sad 😞
thanks again, Katy 🙂
Kate the price shown will be for your 'Base price'! If you go into your pricing settings, the first price setting you will come across is for your base price so you will work out how many guests you will accommodate at that price and put the price in there.
Next scroll down to 'Extra Charges', and after clicking edit you will be faced with this page.....
So what this section will then display is your Base Price which will be for two guests, and this is the price which will be displayed for any person who does not use any search filters. If a guest uses the number of guests filter, that will access any other charges that may apply with that listing such as, cleaning fee, ABB service fee and other Govt charges, and the cost for each extra guest........ and a total price will be displayed for that first night.
So that is how that has come about Katy, search without guests filter and the base price will be displayed....search with the guest filter and the extra guests will be taken into account.
I hope you can understand that.
We all hope the fires go soon Katy and area about the size of the UK has been burnt around Australia and close to 2,000 homes have been lost (1400) in NSW alone.
But realistically the only thing that is going to put these fires out is.....rain, and I am afraid there isn't any on the horizon!
We Aussies have a great empathy for each other, our spirits are high and we are helping each other in any way we can. Millions of dollars is being raised around the country through 'sausage sizzles' and other charity events and, we will get through this.
On a personal level we are fortunate in that there is no possibility of bushfires affecting us here in Mt Barker.
Cheers......Rob
Thank you Rob, sorry I didn't get your second message till now, that is very helpful, think I will do this 🙂 Hope things in Australia better now - and many thanks for taking the time to explain that to me 🙂
Katy
There are many times you do a much better job of explaining than me Linda, maybe this one was just my turn!!!
Have a great new year mate!
Cheers......Rob
