I had a 5 day reservation worth over $500 and AirBnB cancels it the night before with just an email to me. He had booked more than a month ago and had 6 verifications and 6 reviews. AirBnB's excuse is that he possibly had some damage issues with another host. I don't understand how AirBNB can do this with no penalty to themselves. If the guests cancels the night before he pays anyway. If I cancel the night before I pay a penalty to AirBNB and get a bad review and possibly go on probation. Yet Airbnb can cancel at will. I have no problem with them cancelling due to an issue like that but it should have been reviewed when he booked or at least a week or two prior tot he reservation date.
