Airbnb is emailing my guest and telling them to cancel

Airbnb is sending form letters to my guest telling them they cannot stay at my house because of COVID-19, saying that guest can't stay in La Quinta, CA anymore. Is this happening all over the US? There are not travel restrictions in La Quinta or the Palm Springs area. All the hotels are open.

This is what the email says

@Lisa479  I think you are misinterpreting that email. I think it is telling you that the guest cancelled and claimed coronavirus as an extenuating circumstance. It doesn't say Airbnb told her to cancel. Or did your guest tell you that they just cancelled her reservation without her permission? By the way, other hosts are reporting getting those, as well. In other areas of the US.

@Lisa479
I am sorry to know that happened to you. I also got a cancellation today from a guest.

I wonder if your guest has requested the cancellation. If not, Airbnb encouraged your guest to cancel the reservation. That is ridiculous!

I am sure you saw this:
March 24, 2020 City of Palm Springs put in emergency order on rentals due to COVID-19

https://www.palmspringsca.gov/home/showdocument?id=72780

"No new reservations shall be accepted until after the COVID-19 emergency declaration .. restrictions have been lifted. Any and all bookings through April 30, 2020 ... shall be cancelled immediately. Any guests currently in a lodging facility are directed to return directly home and continue to "shelter in place" in their home community, or remain sheltered in place in the unit.”

$5,000 fine.

Lucky my March/April guest was booked before & can "remain sheltered in place in the unit".

PS already had a “Shelter In Place” order on March 17.
