Airbnb president is in support of Elon Musk & DOGE

This is resulting in coordinated efforts to Boycott Airbnb hosts which will end up costing the people who support his sight their reputations and their business. Please make your opinion know that Airbnb hosts do not support the illegal actions of Elon Musk and the current administration. I will be removing my listings if this doesn't change and he withdraws his support.

We have been Airbnb hosts since 2018 but knowing that a cofounder and member of the Airbnb board is a supporter of Nazi Musk, we have no option but to move to another platform.  We will resist this coup d’etat in every way possible, even if it’s inconvenient and may cost us money this year.

Yes, likewise. I am researching alternatives. Both for our rental and future travel and will be leaving airbnb, unless there is a clear message of defying Trump and Doge doctrine.

I am so disappointed in AirBnB supporting the swasticar-maker.   The STENCH of MUSK is in everything these days.  Will also resist as you plan to as I am appalled by the threat he and T-Rump pose to Democracy!

I’ve been a guest on Airbnb for 14 years. It has been my go to resource anytime I travel. I’ve loved especially in the old days connecting with amazing hosts around the country and the immediate feeling of being at home in a new city. 

with the alignment with Musk and the dismantling of the US government I’m officially boycotting Airbnb and moving over to VRBO and regular hotels. 

Please reconsider aligning with a group that is causing so much harm to farmers, hungry communities, folks relying on food stamps, or who are working in our national forests. 

I’ll be encouraging everyone I know to join the boycott of Airbnb.

Please consider still supporting the small and micro businesses for the next 12 mo while we figure out how best to manage this situation.  Please don’t pile on more to hurt us economically and politically than us already the case in 2025.

@Pat283 It seems that the people who are posting here are those willing to make sacrifices in the interest of doing what is right. The people we are opposing are those who are willing to sacrifice others for the sake of their own hateful agenda. 

When you say what you said in your post, it places you in a position where you also are more focused on the dollar as opposed to what is right. It's the antithesis of these posts in opposition to AirBnB allowing Joe Gebbia to remain on the board. 

Most of the so-called Republican party in this country have sacrificed their morals and integrity for money and job security. Are you willing to do the same?

Elon Musk is accountable to no one. He has not been elected by anyone, and his companies receive more in government subsidies than any of the US infrastructure he is destroying. He doesn't even understand the functions and value of what he is dismantling and doesn't care about the impact on real people's lives. 

That story about Chelsea Clinton is untrue - and Musk contributes to the distributing of dangerous misinformation like this. Control of the media, and persuading people to believe BS like this is part of what gives him so much un-checked power.

The amount of damage done by Musk and the Trump administration in just a few weeks is appalling. It will take a long time before the rest of the world trusts the USA again, and the only solution is that the American people start realising how much they need to fight back.  

If God exists, he would be disgusted with the utterly self-serving agenda of the Trump administration and Elon Musk. People like you, if you truly love your country, need to stop idolising a disgraced felon who has no intention of improving your lives and take back your democracy while there is anything left of it.

My Airbnb has been in operation in good standing all of its 10 years.  

Mr. Gebbia, please explain your role w/ DOGE.  Are you there to support Trump administration values or to stand up for Airbnb’s stated values where conflicts exist, DEI and otherwise?

To Mr Gebbia and the rest of the Airbnb exec team/board as individuals:

How are you personally protecting & supporting the needs of the Airbnb host community while you sit on DOGE and build bonds with Trump administration leadership? 

How are you protecting & supporting the huge community of small and micro Airbnb businesses all over the US?   

So far this has only inflicted further economic harm above inflation.
