Approving a listing that is a gift

In these current times, many people are booking to get away and de-stress. I have a pending reservation from a first time ABNB user who wants to gift the stay for his partner so she can have down time. He included a link to her profile page so I could verify her as a guest but apparently Air BNB doesn't allow access to a guest profile page unless they're the one booking?? Most importantly I use the profile as one means to verify they mightn't be coming from a location on NYS's quarantine list. Anyone know how to view a profile of a nonbooking guest? Thoughts overall?

@Serena335

You can see any profile as long it is a valid Airbnb URL

Probably the link is incomplete as (partly) blocked by Airbnb ?

Please note if only the partner will stay at the accommodation, it will be a 3rd party booking (not allowed). If both are staying, the partner can be added as the second guest.

Thanks, very helpful! And, it's my understanding this is not a 3rd party booking as they are both guests. It's just a surprise gift to one of them!

@Serena335that is so sweet for someone to do for their partner.

There's nothing worse than the cat been let out of the bag for any party in any situation.

Have they provided the partners full name so you can try establish background details?

@Serena335 If it's a two person booking, including the person who sent the request, you need not treat it as a third party reservation but rather a standard one in which the gift recipient is just the +1.

I wouldn't recommend accepting the booking if the customer is trying to transfer it to someone else. Not only because it's against the rules, but also because the person attending will not have agreed to your rules and parameters, and may not be as suitable of a fit for it as her partner imagined.
