At time of requesting a booking are guests expected to provide information?

Hi all,

Are guests encouraged by Airbnb to tell the host something about themselves and their reason for wanting to book when they make a booking request? Are they obliged to tell the host who else is in their group?  If there is a link to somewhere that Airbnb suggests this?

I know I can ask the guest questions ..., just wondering if it is something Airbnb encourages guests to do.

@Wendy684 : I guess you could do as I did, start a ”booking” of your own listing in logged out mode, go through the steps but not finalize the booking. Would be interesting to hear what yours says, if it is the same as mine (same for all without IB).

@Trude0 sorry I didn't explain I actually have IB but I'm curious to know what the message says that is being sent when guests book my place and if IB hosts can allegedly change the message we must first be able to see what it says! Which i can't.

@Wendy684  In the IB guest requirements section of booking settings there is a custom message field for you to create your own message. I can't remember what the original default message was though.

@Trude0 that's unbelievable!

There just should NOT be so much fumbling around in the dark and guesswork, for hosts.  It's utterly ridiculous.
