Automatic Translation suspicion

Hello Everyone,

Since a few months, I do not get any English messages any longer. Instead, travellers from around the world seem to write me in broken French. I therefore suspect that an AUTOMATIC translation is done by IT, which is of course undesirable.

When someone asks me a question in EN, I reply in EN and for FR or NL the same.

The manual translation is sometimes useful, but I prefer it is on my request, when someone messages me in a language which I do not master.

Anyone has a similar experience, or a clarification on what I suspect is happening here?

it is a setting in Inbox to have automatic translation " on" or "off" for all messages, so you can make a choice. it is the first icon (for me it showes automatic translation is set to "off") on this list:
