Cancellation

Hello,

We have a trip to Paris planned for July. As of now, we are not permitted to travel to France. If this remains, how can we go about canceling our trip without penalty and getting a refund? Currently, we do not fall under the extenuating circumstances because our trip is in July. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

It's a matter of waiting for more news, @Lori2089. The EC policy has recently been extended to include up until the end of June. I expect there will be a further extension next Friday (29/5) which will cover the following two weeks (until mid-July).

While far from ideal, it's the way things are being handled.

Alternatively, you may wish to approach your travel insurance co.

@Lori2089  you can never be quite sure w/airbnb, but I would guess that all you would need to do is provide documentation to airbnb that you can't legally fly to France and airbnb will refund your money under the EC guideline, no matter what the host's refund policy is or was.

Thanks for your response. If this ends up being the case, would I go through the normal cancellation protocol and then contact the resolution center? I don't want to do something that hurts my host or go over her head, especially since this is out of her control.

Thanks in advance.
