We became a Superhost after 5 months of operation. Thank you!

I think this honor is not only because we are good at operating our accommodation, but also because of the K-Culture that is spreading around the world. Guests from many countries visited us. We hope you will come to Sky39, which is close to Incheon Airport, a world-class airport in Korea, and enjoy Korean Culture.

We will provide you with the best accommodation. *^^*

Hey all! Congrats on your journey to Superhost!

I am a video game producer and entrepreneur by day and turned my airbnb hobby into a fairly serious focus, I have been at this since 2016 and recently passed 500 reviews at 4.94 cumulative, so I have seen everything by now 🙂

It has truly been an amazing learning experience, helping turn our guests’ family stays into lasting memories.

I have never posted on this chat group forum but always open to ideas and team ups with other hosts that really are as committed to excellence.

Feel free to reach out to me if you want to swap stories, have business ideas for properties or want to just commiserate 🤣

best,

Ariel

Hi @Ariel1639

Congratulation! That's an impressive change in career as well, what inspired you to start working in hospitality alongside your video game work?

If you have a minute, it would be great if you could share your experience in this discussion that another host recently started as well, I think your perspective would be very insightful: How do you juggle hosting duties while working as well?

Looking forward to seeing you around the community! 🙂

Emilie

For a big chunk of my career in media, I worked on League of Legends gaming events around the world. One of the most rewarding parts of that journey was hearing from gamers who thanked us for creating esports events where they could connect with others who shared their passion for games. We helped build a bridge to a community, and that sense of purpose always stuck with me.

When my kids started growing up and our family vacation home saw less use, I ventured into real estate hosting. It felt like a natural evolution of that same passion: catering deeply to a specific group of people and creating something they would love. What started as a family project truly took off during COVID, when families were desperate to reunite.

Now, hosting on Airbnb has become much more than just a business - it’s a way to bring people together. We specialize in large homes designed for multigenerational families to gather for their dream vacations and holiday getaways. Typically, our guests are three subfamilies: grandparents, parents, and a flock of cousins.

When designing our spaces, we focus on creating open layouts with great sightlines so families can feel connected, while also offering semi-private spaces where everyone can have their own spot. I can’t count the number of times we’ve heard about kids loving our double bunks or grandparents treasuring sweet family photos taken by our towering 12-foot Christmas tree.

These stories from our guests make all the work worth it. It's not a "big" business, but hearing how our homes have helped create lifelong memories feels like hosting has become a true calling, just as meaningful as any other work I’ve done in my career. Airbnb hosting isn’t just about spaces; it’s about stories, families, and the joy of being a part of something bigger. 💖

I should also say that we have a wonderful local team that handles all of the details on a day to day basis. We have a great way of dividing responsibilities. I do almost all of the talking and interacting with the families in the app. Our teammates do the house checklists and manage the maintenance with my help, but it's mostly them. I couldn't and wouldn't suggest ANYONE take on hosting without an amazing team onsite.

@Norma716 Congratulations on your Superhost status! 🤗

I've been very near to Chicago before but never made it into the city -what are some must-do activities you recommend to your guests there?

Hooray! I'm a Superhost!

I didn't realize how emotional I would get about that. From purchasing my cabin to fixing it up for a whole year, I tried to continue to build something that people like me would like - a retreat from the craziness of city life that's peaceful and quiet but also has modern touches that keep you cozy, secure and plugged in as much as you want to be.

Decluttered, but with everything you might need.

Hi All,

Having been a global traveller, my journey as super host started 2 years ago when I started learning and putting customers at core. What started as an experimental and experiencial learning soon  evolved into customer centric passion. I look forward to learn and share.
