If there are no flights operating  from Canada to Cuba because of Covid I would  suggest you make a claim on your travel insurance @Tammy367

By the way what’s a Covid scam?

@Tammy367  It's not your host's fault that the flights were cancelled. You made the choice to book a holiday during a pandemic, and the cancellation policy was clearly displayed to you when you confirmed it. Maybe next time you'll pay a little more attention when you book, or buy appropriate travel insurance instead of getting all Karen about it.

@Tammy367   As @Anonymous points out,  the cancellation was also not the fault of the host, however, since you like to travel to Cuba, perhaps you can negotiate with the host for a credit for another time when the travel situation is not so changeable.  Also, I, too, am curious what is meant by "covid scam".

@Tammy367   People have died of this "scam," Tammy - have some respect.

When you book an Airbnb you can't complete the reservation without seeing the cancellation policy.  By booking, you agree to the cancellation policy.  You have entered into a contract with certain stipulations.  In this case, you accepted the stipulation that you'd get a 50% refund if you cancelled.  There are other airlines and other ways of getting from Canada to Cuba.

@Tammy367 depending on when you booked I may or may not agree with the hosts above. When was your booking made and when was your stay supposed to be?

Thanks Tammy367 for still choosing to try and travel and support us Airbnb hosts in this crazy time....

Please use your filter "cancellation flexibility" when booking next time, then read the Cancellation policy, as soon as you click into the place you are looking at.

depending on when you cancelled your booking, a lot of us Hosts wont make you nic your finger and sign your booking in blood, we understand whats going on at the moment, and are very flexible... and you will see that in our bookings...
