I know that Airbnb sends guest that are really quality control, to check that your place meets five star standards. To many things have happened that lead me to this conclusion. Make Airbnb unhappy for some reason. I think they also 8 ball you by sending a lot of bad bookings that not only do bad things to your property but give you bad ratings. Some of the complaints are outright lies or some extra you would not give them. If you don't get five star ratings they put you at the bottom of their booking list. You lose bookings and benefits. I will know for sure this is what is happening if my current booking turns bad. This will make three in a row. Maybe time to find another booking company.

@Dorothy122 I don't think anyone here is personally offended, "stird up" (is that what the kids say these days?), or harboring any hatred toward you. Quite the contrary - you're a good host and we all want you to prosper!
But it does seem to me that you're more than capable of understanding why your hypothesis doesn't follow logically or have any basis in facts, when you look back at what you wrote. Could it be that your projections seemed to make sense in the heat of anger at a bad review, but didn't really pass muster when you had a chance to calm down and take a broader perspective?
Finally I found someone with the same suspicions as mine. I think that they send these quality control jerks once a year -they are really similar and you could tell that there is something off and that they will downgrade and undermine your rating but it is too late once he is in your property. The platform actually exploits your efforts and hard work by undermining your rating thorough such undercover guests because then you have to compensate these negative scores with much more bookings and positive reviews - you drop prices, you add extras but nothing is enough. There is no conspiracy here- pure capitalism. I am furious because this happened to me last year but now my last guest made even more damage to my rating without any explanation or complain. I was always available and was waiting for him an hour before the official check -in -then he gives me 3* check-in rating; he used a 30% off promotion in a 160sq. m downtown apartment and put 4* on value and location. He gives me 4* communication, when I was always available.This has never happened to me before (except of a similar but not so brutal case last year) and I am sure that this guy was a profecional saboteur. I recognized the trouble once I layed eyes on him. I wrote to the airbnb support but surprise, surprise - nothing happened. I am truly disgusted.
