I have 4 high income producing properties. As a Host your Extenuating Circumstances policy is going to put us out of business. My short term rentals are my only source of income. You are making the Host absorb every guests misfortunes. Airbnb should offer trip insurance at time of booking to relieve Hosts of this liability. Airbnb will be out of business when us Hosts all go under and lose our properties or run to other travel companies like VRBO that offer their guests travel insurance. Please start caring for your Hosts!! We need your support too!! And quit saying with any cancellation there will be no charge to the Host. That is insulting because we are losing all the rental money which is the largest penalty possible.

@Darrell60   This is a community message board for your peers. Airbnb is not reading your post, and your livelihood is not their problem. I do agree, though, that they should replace the EC cancellation policy with optional cancellation insurance. 

On the bright side, if you're fortunate enough to own more real estate than your personal needs require, you are going to come out of this just fine.
