Fraudulent clone on booking.com

Hello to all of you.

A couple of days ago two "guests" came to my doorstep with fraudulent "reservation" of my accommodation, which l have listed exclusively on Airbnb. Their reservation was confirmed and went through booking.com! I NEVER put my accommodation on their site though. The number of the "owner" cited on their was invalid and the guests were supposed to pay directly when they get to the location!!! Also the price was extremely low.

Who and why do they do that?!

Is it to fish for customers so they click on the booking.com website? (The fake listing comes up in a Google search!!)

I tried reaching out to booking.com but their customer service is inexistent!!!!

And Airbnb basically says that they can't do anything about it.

Anybody who can help?

It sounds to me as if the guests were part of the scam in an attempt to get a cheap place to stay. Weird though and a bit scary
