I'm less than two weeks hosting. A guest booked for one night. He checked into a wrong and occupied room. I relocated him to ...
I'm already committed to this very young, upcoming guest, but one of his questions threw me: "Are there any doors on the inside of the house?" Can any of you think why a potential guest might ask this? I shared facts about the doors, then queried why he wanted to know so I might better answer the question. No reason, just curious, the guest replied. Has anyone received a similar question or know of a reason for it? I'm hoping it's not a red flag.
@Hal3292,Probably just a privacy issue. Maybe spent one too many stays in a nudist colony with his parents. H
@Hal3292 A long shot, but maybe he was wanting to know if there was a way to contain a pet while he was out exploring, like in a bathroom?
@Hal3292 I thought this was odd but then I carefully looked at your photos on your listing. They are taken at an angle so no door frames are shown. It's hard to tell if there are individual rooms or if it's an open concept. Even in the bathroom, there is a curtain for privacy near the toilet, so it raises the question. I think this is an honest question for clarification.
@Hal3292 I think @Emilia42 's observation here is spot-on. Your listing is really nice and most things about it look perfectly normal, until you get to the picture of the bathroom and there's a curtain in front of the toilet. I've never seen that before, so it makes me wonder if the bathroom has a door. If it doesn't, some people would find that a little too awkward.
@Hal3 I also see the guest’s point, especially due to the curtain partition for the bathroom, as others have mentioned. Not an odd question at all.
@Hal3292 Could it be that your young guest might have wondered whether your property was "open plan"?
Thank you all for your ideas! I've now added an uncropped photo to the listing with the caption: "Bathroom with shower. Bathroom door at left, decorative curtains inside." I really hope this was on the young man's mind (he's visiting with his wife) and not him thinking to stash a pet!
