Hey all,
I found this message and has so many red flags, that I feel I am being scammed.
Specially because I can't go check the apartment before renting.
"Hi Bernardo, as I already mentioned at this moment I live and work in the UK ( I have a contract for 5 years) and that is why I suggested to handle the transaction safely through Airbnb which is the largest and safest rental website in the world.
Ok, so let me explain you the process step by step for a better understanding:
- I will list the property for you on Airbnb for EUR 700 per month. The minimum rental contract can be made for at least 2 months and up to 10 years and of course you could register at the address. It would be a regular registered rental contract.
- You will have to pay a 3 months deposit ( EUR 2.100 ) to Airbnb in order to confirm your rental. The 3 months deposit covers the first 2 months of rent + 1 month security deposit. The security deposit will be entirely refunded to you at the end of your stay
- All the taxes and bills are included in the rental price
- Rental price also includes 1 parking place
- After you complete the payment to Airbnb, your deposit will be held in their secure system until you check-in
- After payment is made you can inspect the property along with someone from the rental agency and IF BY ANY CHANCE YOU DON'T LIKE IT, THEN YOU CAN HAVE A FULL REFUND the same day from Airbnb. I assure you that the property is exactly as shown in the pictures that I sent you, it's a luxury property very beautiful and clean. If after the viewing you decide to rent it, you will sign a contract of accommodation with the agent and he will hand you over the keys
- As I already mentioned I work overseas, so a viewing before completing the transaction through Airbnb is not possible, but Airbnb is guaranteeing the transaction between us. In case something gets damaged without your fault, we can discuss and deduct the amount from the rental price, but obvious with bills attached
Before listing the property on Airbnb, I need to know your full name, phone number and the exact date when would you like to move in the property and for how long you wish to rent it.
Thanks for understanding,
Brad J."
