More fair way to handle covid EC

Covid EC is here to stay, I get that. I wish Airbnb tried to make at least a vague attempt to make it fair. For example, they could tell all guests that they either cancel now and get a voucher; wait but purchase insurance; or do nothing and host policy will apply. This way we can have our calendars cleared instead of guests waiting for the 15th And 30th of every month to see if it applies to them even though they know for months they are not traveling and Airbnb can even make money on insurance if they calculate it right. That would take resources away from project lighthouse though.
