New to the Community Center? Introduce yourself here (Updated)

Hello everyone,

A warm welcome to the Community Center.

This discussion is for introducing yourself to your fellow Airbnb Community members, as well as welcoming and saying hello to newcomers in return. Thanks to all of you who have already introduced yourself and contributed in our previous thread, here.

I'm Lizzie and I am the Community Manager here, along with my teammate @Quincy. I have been managing the Airbnb Community Center since it officially opened in November 2015. It is fantastic to speak with amazing community members here.

To kickstart this topic, I would like to share a few things about myself:

  1. I love to travel, hot or cold it doesn't matter - I'm ready with my sun lotion or a raincoat!
  2. I play several instruments, but my main one is the flute. I always enjoy a good conversation about music.
  3. Lastly, over the past year I have become very interested in all things eco/sustainablilty related.

How about you? Any interesting facts or hobbies?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Lizzie

Hi, I am new to engaging with the community.

I have just posted a question concerning a hosts review within the cafe section, but perhaps it is the wrong section. Sorry for that.

Should I repost under bookings ?

Peter

Hello dear community members,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Mahmoud, and I am thrilled to be part of this vibrant Airbnb Community.

A few tidbits about me:

1. Traveling is my passion. Whether I’m exploring bustling cities or serene countrysides, each journey enriches my life and broadens my perspective.
2. I have a keen interest in world cuisines. Not only do I enjoy tasting dishes from different cultures, but I also love whipping up international recipes in my kitchen.
3. Besides traveling and food, I am a strong advocate for community building and believe that sharing spaces with others fosters understanding and mutual respect.

About my Airbnb listing:

I have a cozy space located conveniently near the Milano Lambrate station. What makes my place unique isn’t just its location or amenities, but the experience I try to offer my guests. I aim to provide them with a comfortable, home-like environment, sprinkled with a dash of local Milanese flavor.

It’s fantastic to be a part of a community that values connection, sharing, and creating memorable experiences. Looking forward to interacting with many of you, sharing experiences, and learning from each other.

Best wishes,
Mahmoud

Hi All !

We're just getting into hosting here and look forward to future connections 🙂 We rent out the private second floor of our Historic home in Helena, AR. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, each with a different decor theme.

We have enjoyed reading through the helpful threads in CC. Thank you for posting your experiences and advice as it is so helpful to those just starting out !

My husband and I are moving toward retirement and hope to use some of that off-duty time to catching up on projects at first. We work well together and have some painting that needs done as well as installing new doors and knobs. I love the feeling of finished projects 🙂 Then we will begin reading all those 'must-read' books that have been waiting for us..

Wishing you many Blessings and Bookings !   arhouse.jpg

I am a new host, but was a Superhost previously. I left Airbnb for long enough that my reviews were gone! I rent rooms in my house and Airbnb works best for me. I'm just looking for a community to get advice and share experiences. Thanks all. TMulligan

Hi! Hows it going? Do you think airbnb has  changed much or is it feeling familiar?

I also started hosting after a bit of a gap we have switched residences a couple of times since airbnb started up downunder.

I didn't know the reviews could expire!

Hello Theresa!
I am a host in Natick, ma, the New England area. I’ve been hosting part time as we go away to Florida during the winter months here. I would love to get to know hosts in my area, especially would like to find hosts that could guide me on recruiting team members for my Airbnb.

Hi there

Today we became a Superhost, so super excited. We have our very cute and quaint holiday home in South Africa, in a quaint seaside village called Kalk Bay on Airbnb, and we are certainly enjoying so many international visitors at present.

It is a hidden gem, and a super holiday destination for anyone who is visiting our beautiful country.

I look forward to learning how to optimize my site and get more airbnb bookings.

Thank you for having a forum that we can get advice from.

Hope to see you in South Africa, Kalk Bay, Cape Town soon.! Lisa Adams.

Greetings from the breathtaking Maldives!

Allow me to extend a warm introduction; I am Nasih, an entrepreneur and hotelier immersed in the beauty of the Maldives. My journey in the world of hospitality began in 2012, and since then, my dedicated team and I have had the pleasure of hosting on Airbnb. We are the proud caretakers of boutique hotels and guesthouses situated in the serene local islands of Hulhumale and Dhangethi in the South Ari Atoll.

Excitingly, our story doesn't end here. We are on the verge of introducing two new enchanting properties in Vaavu Atoll, often referred to as the "Wow Atoll," and the alluring North Male' Atoll. These upcoming ventures are a testament to our commitment to provide travelers with unforgettable experiences in diverse Maldivian settings.

With a team that brings a wealth of experience and passion for hospitality, we take immense pleasure in meeting our guests and sharing the rich tapestry of Maldivian history and culture. Every interaction with our guests is an opportunity to create meaningful connections and impart the essence of our beautiful homeland.

Whether you seek accommodation nestled near the Airport for convenience or the vibrant island life experience, we have the perfect abode for you. Your Maldivian adventure awaits! 🌴

Hi everyone,

Along with my partner, we have a house that is available on Airbnb, but is managed by a third party - it's too far away from our home for us to manage in person.

We love to get away when there are no bookings and enjoy making sure that the amenities are kept up to scratch. We also swap out books and records (vinyl) so that any repeat visitors have something new to entertain them on rainy days.

I enjoy making art related to our AirBnB house using travel ephemera and use it to decorate the house, as well as other more traditional prints and art works.

It's great to be here!
