Hello everyone,

A warm welcome to the Community Center. 

This discussion is for introducing yourself to your fellow Airbnb Community members, as well as welcoming and saying hello to newcomers in return. Thanks to all of you who have already introduced yourself and contributed in our previous thread, here.  

I'm Lizzie and I am the Community Manager here, along with my teammate @Quincy. I have been managing the Airbnb Community Center since it officially opened in November 2015. It is fantastic to speak with amazing community members here. 

To kickstart this topic, I would like to share a few things about myself:

1. I love to travel, hot or cold it doesn't matter - I'm ready with my sun lotion or a raincoat! 
2. I play several instruments, but my main one is the flute. I always enjoy a good conversation about music. 
3. Lastly, over the past year I have become very interested in all things eco/sustainablilty related.

How about you? Any interesting facts or hobbies?

Hi, I am Barbara from Seattle, WA. 

I am in my first year of hosting with two units in the basement of my home. I have two small dogs who are my sole companions since my husband died suddenly of Creutzfeld-Jakob disease in April of last year. We had already begun construction of our units so I felt I had to go ahead. It has been a challenge to do this all myself. Sometimes I am just pooped out with running up and down the stairs doing laundry and dishes. I come from an innkeeping family so I am trying very hard to keep up the family standard. I am a superhost.

Hi everyone,

I’m delighted to be joining you on this chat and would like to introduce myself: I am Rita from Malta, a tiny island in the Mediterranean Sea!  I have been welcoming guests through Airbnb for two years now, and I must say that I love the preparations, meeting my guests and helping out whenever they need me. I used to host students in my home for about 3 years before this. Their ages ranged from 12 to 61 !  It’s great to meet so many people from all over the world.

I love to travel and enjoy anything creative.

I am Dianne.   My husband Ron and I started our Airbnb late 2017 and we are now in our 2nd year.  We have had a lot of fun, met many interesting people, some now friends and have had a number of return guests.    

Both of us are retired and and we relocated to the east coast of North Carolina permanently in 2016 after community to our fix-er-upper most weekends for the prior 10 years.

Hi My Name is Nicole .

I joined Airbnb in 2018 and the experience hosting with my mon has been quite interesting .

I have vacationed in a few places but there is no where to me like my beautiful island.

As a host  I have learned a lot and grown through my experiences with guest who all have their unique perspective.

I hope this community will provide the insights that will allow myself and my mom to be better hosts as we share our home and the wonderous sights of our beautiful island Jamaica.

Hi Y’all 

My wife and I are newbies to AirBNB, and have been for about 3 months.  So far, it’s been an amazing experience for the both of us. We are both from MS, and really enjoy the clean fresh air of the countryside. 

Fun Fact:  I love going out to the movies. My wife on the other hand, not so much. She enjoys more outdoor activities like going for walks at the park and just enjoying nature. 

I’m a Mr. Fix-it type of guy and she is a Type-A personality. We are newly weds, so I just found out what a “Honey-Do List” is. 😂

We look forward to engaging with other host for some do’s and don’ts to be aware of during our experience here on AirBNB.

Hi Everyone, I am Gloria, a newbie. I received an invite from Stephanie and is exploring the opportunity to get more familiar with what Airbnb has to offer, as well as what I may be able to contribute. To be quite honest this booking service is not my favorite for a vacation rental but maybe it is because I may not take advantage of all that is out there. Please help me along in navigating the resources available. 

Anyway, I try to be open to all possibilities. I am a former software engineer/landscape designer/construction manager/vacation rental host. I like to travel and the great outdoors. I also like having fun and making money.

I am looking forward to getting involved in conversations surrounding high-end properties since I feel that Airbnb does a poor job at servicing that audience.

Hey there! We're Amy and Zach! We started hosting guests at our row house in Boston a few years back, and a couple years ago purchased a log cabin in our hometown of Ludlow, Vermont to spend time near our families and share our quaint mountain town with guests. We are in the process of moving to Leadville, Colorado, where we've got our sights set on another home to live in and share with others. Airbnb has been a wonderful opportunity for us to explore our love of creating beautiful spaces, and has given us the flexibility to invest in the homes we already love.
