Welcome to the Community Center! 👋  I'm @Bhumika , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca  and @Elisa  and we are thrilled to have you join us.

Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:

@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 6+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe. 

@Bhumika :  🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.

@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.

@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community.  I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘‍ and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌 

@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.

Hi everyone and thank you 

iam florence iam French from Tahiti . I started to be a host in December 2023 . Wanted to give a chandce of travelers to discovers Taranaki where I leave and share the experience of our community. We split our 1920 bungalow in 2 to set up the airbnb . It’s a lovely French look 😊 loving the experience of meeting people from around the world 😊

Hello my name is Pamela and I live in Richmond Indiana , my airbnb is part of my home which is an old schoolhouse , we converted a part of the downstairs into a one bedroom apartment with a private entrance , it’s cozy , clean and I think everyone would like it . We have chickens and we like to share our eggs with the guests and in the summer will have a fresh garden for everyone to enjoy . I love to give back . Hope everyone had a great day .

Is anyone else facing a real decline in bookings this January ?

If so are there any tips or tricks to stand out a bit more and boost bookings?

I'm in Southern California and have also noticed a significant decline in bookings.  Does anyone know if removing fees (cleaning, service fee paid by guest) helps increase rank or bookings?

Hello from San Diego!  I'm delighted to join this community.  In addition to taking care of my vacation rental, which is also my primary residence, I also help care for my 99 year old mother.  I love hosting multi-generational families (the majority of our guests), and hope to learn how to become an even better host!

I am in Victoria BC and was a Superhost in 2022 but I had a major health issue in 2023 which prevented us from renting our home.  Back now with 5 months of open space!

Hello! I am Amanda, owner and host of Rose City Hideaway in Portland, OR. Located in North Portland, the Overlook neighborhood, we have a special corner of the city that is home to all of the entertainment spaces, and a foodie’s paradise! All within walking distance of the AirBnB! We share the property with our primary home, and the backyard outdoor kitchen, fire pit, and 12 person swim spa. We have both a relaxing or vibrant space to host for our guests getaways. We enjoy helping tailor our guests stay, with wine waiting for them to celebrate their adventures, or self guided tours for their personal interests. We hope to grow and build our business this year, after a successful 1 year on the Airbnb app!
