Hello everyone! 😊
Welcome to the Community Center! 👋 I'm @Elisa , one of the Community Managers for our English Community Center along with my lovely team members @Quincy @Paula @Rebecca @Bhumika @Alex @Emilie and we are thrilled to have you join us.
Let's kickstart this thread with a little about us Community Managers:
@Quincy : I'm from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 I have been on the Community Center for 7+ years, and have been an Airbnb Host myself. I love cycling🚲, playing football⚽, and travelling🌏 . I love how dynamic and diverse the Community Center is as we meet Hosts from all around the globe.
@Bhumika : 🌍 I was born in Gujarat, India 🇮🇳 , and shifted to Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 last year! 📷 I recently realized my love for photography and aesthetics. I love to capture mundane life and candid pictures. 🌆 When I'm not working, you'll find me binge-watching thriller movies or exploring history.
@Paula : I am from Colombia 🇨🇴 and currently living in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦. I have a passion for Latin American culture (I love to dance 💃) . I've had the opportunity to visit around 20 countries 🌎 and plan to visit many more. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, especially mountain biking 🚲 and hiking 🏔.
@Rebecca : I'm from Cardiff in Wales originally but being a military child and a veterans spouse, I've travelled and lived in a lot of different places in the UK and Europe. I'm an environmentalist 🌿 and like to minimise my impact on the planet 🌎 as well as volunteering in my local community. I love sea swimming 🌊 yoga on the beach 🧘 and I'm a children's yoga instructor too! 🙌
@Elisa : I was born in Italy 🇮🇹 and as a lover of unique experiences—from exploring the streets of Rome🇮🇹 , Paris 🇫🇷, and Toronto 🇨🇦 to appreciating timeless art and cuisine—I'm here to blend the old with the new.
@Alex : I'm originally from Spain 🇪🇸, but my passion for traveling made me move to Toronto🇨🇦 this year to explore the culture and add another unforgettable experience to my journey ✈️. I'm also passionate about all kinds of sports ⚽️ (especially football, in which I played at a semi-professional level) and love to discover new dishes everywhere I go. 🥘
@Emilie : I was born in France 🇫🇷, raised in French Polynesia 🌺 and Morocco 🇲🇦, and have settled in the UK for 14 years now! On evenings and weekends, you will find me spending time with my dog, working on a jigsaw, or trying my hand at some new cuisine. 🍲
Now it's your turn! Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? And is there something special about the location of your accommodation that you'd like to share?
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
Warm regards🌻,
Elisa

That's a great tip for the rest of the hosts in the Community. I'm sure your guests appreciate your communication with them, @Omar1431. Have they ever shown you this gratitude? 🤗
Thanks for your kind words! 😊 I’ve definitely had guests express their appreciation for the effort I put into communication. Sometimes they’ll leave a note or mention in their review how much they appreciated the quick responses or how I made sure they had everything they needed. It’s always a great feeling to know that your efforts are making a positive impact on their experience
Hi! My name is Erik and I am new to Airbnb hosting. I recently purchased a chalet on a small lake at Innsbrook in Missouri. My wife and I have been working for the past 2 months furnishing and preparing the home for guests. We live in St. Louis so we are only about 45 minutes away. We are learning as we go so I’ll be asking for feedback on our listing once it’s ready. Thanks!
Hi @Erik2505!
Best,
Alex
Hi everyone!
I’m Leonardo from Miami, and I’m excited to join this amazing community of hosts. I recently became an Airbnb host and am eager to learn from those with more experience.
As a first-time host, I’d love to hear any tips or advice you might have, whether it’s about creating the best guest experience, optimizing my listing, or managing day-to-day tasks. I’m also curious to know what has worked well for you in attracting more bookings and maintaining positive reviews.
If anyone has stories or lessons learned they’d be willing to share, I’d really appreciate it. I’m looking forward to connecting with all of you and learning from your experiences!
Thank you so much in advance!
Welcome @Leonardo1339!
Hey Alex!
My listing is located in Miami!
Hi! I'm Debra and I joined as a host in August 2024. We live in Colorado which is a hot spot, so we learned a lot quick, but luckily it's been very smooth.
We Airbnb our own house when we travel, as well as another listing that is just a part of our house with a separate entrance when we are there. I have found I actually love to please guests! And get excited when they love our house.
One issue I'm looking to perhaps make it easier is how to deal with streaming services to make available to guests. We have different brands of Smart TVs spread in the rooms, and we do not have Roku. So in our case it's less of a headache to have the guests "watch any free content from hosts account"... but I know that isn't recommended. We haven't had any problems, but let me know if there are better options!! ("Guest Accounts" often have "too many user" problems).
Also one other thing I have run into regarding the way Airbnb has the set up to create the listings:
on the Airbnb choices of listings, it only gives two options to display that your listing is either 1), the "entire place), or 2), "shared space." And I have submitted this feedback already, but we live in our basement with a separate entrance for *one of our listings: so the "2 floors" with a separate entrace for guests is neither the "entire place" nor is it a "shared space."
The Airbnb consult said that I should choose "entire place"... because the 2 floors for guests is not shared, is their own space with a private entrance... however we have run into several potential bookings that book the "2 floors" listing, and then back out when they read further that the hosts are in the basement. Some do not care, but others it is misleading the way Airbnb poses that. Can you share insight in this?
Thank you!!
Hello @Debra783!
Welcome to the Community! You are in the right place to learn everything you need.

Hi my name is Sandra. I have been in the vacation rental service industry for almost 30 years. I am a owner/broker-in-charge of a real estate company in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area. I have been asked by clients for many years if I would co-host/host their STR but our company wasn't set up to do so. I finally decided to bite the bullet and start hosting and merged with my cleaning and concierge services company. My real estate clients are my test subjects HaHa. I am taking it very slow and learning the Airbnb process. Looking forward to becoming an expert host. I have property in South Carolina, Florida, Colorado and the Big Island of Hawaii. Hoping to add those to my profile in due time.
Welcome, @Stay-Salty-Vacations0.
Hi everyone, I'm Amy from Los Angeles, nice to meet you all. I look forward to talking to you all more
