Guest had booked for 6 adults. Five days prior to checking in, guest called and asked if there's anything outside house rules, check in/out he should be aware of. I stated, not at this time. But did find him calling and asking a tad strange.  I also said, unless current guests break anything signicant, I will let me know. He then asked if he could hard/direct connect to the wifi. I stated no, as it is in the garage which is off limits.  Silly me. I should have asked why?  There are outside security cameras. I noted they set up a huge DJ and dual turntable station. He ended up living streaming on TWEED for 12 hours Sat and 10 hours Sunday and invited 6 other DJs and guests. I called and asked what was up. He said there will be no more than 12 people attending, won't turn into a party and only 6 are staying at the house.  I did advise him anything over 10 people, per house info on AIRBNB states it is considered any event/gathering and extra fee to be charged accordingly.  However, upon checking with the owner he said to let it go (however, owner was not aware of the 22 hours of live streaming and significant power consumption.   So, my question is, before I give him a review, do I call to ask him to explain why he was not up front of his intentions, especially when he called be five days prior to check in, and also advise of the extra use of house (had 8 rolls of toilet paper and after 1.5 days, notice they bought a 12 pack.....why would 6 quests need so much toilet paper....hmmm, likely had a party house going on, unsure). There are few broken glasses and a stool (although they glued it back together) and did leave house in clean good order.  Do I call and discuss. Or just rate him and how do I rate him. And or, confront him and state it turned out to be an event and request event fee $.   What to do.....hmm....suggestions anyone?

Type in the subject heading. It should read more than "10" people, not "1".

The most important thing is what YOU learn from it and what steps you take so you do not fall for a slick talking artist like this character again. Calling and discussing what happened is of little value, since you are both definitely coming from two different worlds. Besides, all communique should be via the Airbnb messenger system, not personal phones.

I would leave a 'short & sweet' review hinting at the fact he didn't quite follow the rules (4's?), but there were some positives. With emphasis on short; keep in mind public reviews are read and pertain mostly to future guests not past ones. Above all, stay cool.
