We have a potential guest from abroad who would like to book with us but at the moment they cannot confirm the exact dates as they want to spend a couple of days in London either prior or post their visit to Scotland. If they were to go ahead and book the dates are they entitled to a refund if they amend their arrival/departure dates prior to their visit
It depends on your cancellation policy @Jack2029. If it's strict, they won't get a full refund. If you want to give them one, though, you can do that yourself. It all depends on whether and for how long you want those days blocked. If the guest waits too long to decide, you might not get them booked by someone else.
