Reviews and relisting

I am wondering if I should delete my listing and then relist it. We listed a few months ago. Being new to this we didn't get things quite right at first and got quite a few "threes" for the accuracy review.  We have corrected those things now but I worry people won't book when they see an accuracy rating of 3.8 in our six reviews.

My take is no. I read your written reviews and they are all great. Yes, a few guests mentioned the fact that the cooking area is small and that there were some privacy/sound travelling issues, but that was in the context of your listing and your hosting being praised, more  the way of mentioned, rather than being complaints. And your responses were professional and gracious.

Since you are aware of the accuracy issues and have corrected them, if I were you I'd wait awhile to see if you can get that accuracy rating back up rather than lose those 14 written reviews. To me, those are a much more accurate picture of what guests can expect than star ratings, which are quite subjective. Even hosts who described everything accurately have had low accuracy ratings from guests simply because the guests failed to fully read the description. In other words, they marked the host down for their own failure of due diligence. Try not to stress out too much over star ratings.

I read your comment and agree with your point. Bad review and Good review is good at all. We can't expect we have only 5-star review all time. The bad review encourages us to improve and honest with our service, as a part of a long Host journey.

P.S. Believe it or not, some hosts have even reported having guests mark them down for accuracy and when the host politely asked the guest in a message what wasn't accurate, the guests said that the place was much nicer than what they expected from the description!

@Roth389 I agree with @Sarah977  here - you're best off keeping the listing and all the great reviews attached to it!  I've never found the individual category ratings to make much difference to actual bookings. But when Accuracy in particular is the guest's concern, having a lot of reviews is far more encouraging than having the highest ratings.

Beautiful listing, by the way  - I have a feeling that when the season is in full swing, that million dollar view could sell just about anything!
