Scabies and bed bugs

I have requested a refund for a stay at ** for scabies and bed bug infestation. If Airbnb doesn’t provide refund can I sue the host for medical bills and time off work

@Tiffany664  If you need legal advice, you'll have to hire a lawyer. But it's notoriously hard to prove that an infestation was already present in the home rather than brought in with you.

It seems a bit far-fetched to have contracted both scabies and bed bugs from the same location.  There's also the not insignificant issue that scabies is predominantly spread by skin-to-skin contact.  It would be very, very rare to catch it from contaminated bedding and the presence of the skin crusts containing scabies eggs and insects would be very obvious from even a casual inspection of the bedding.

Bottom line?  Your tale of woe isn't credible and the only real issue appears to be your own personal hygiene and/or dubious choice of partner.

BTW, your reviews are very, very poor and your comments regarding the state of the host's accommodation and your subsequent post on this board are defamatory. I am surprised that Airbnb hasn't already deleted them.  It would very just if the host elected to sue you to hell and back, but I doubt you have the assets or income to make it a worthwhile exercise.  Madam, you are a disgrace.

@Louise0 Your response is extremely harsh and attacking the person who is asking a question is unnecessary and uncalled for. It reminds me of something my mother use to say—if one doesn’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything.

On the contrary, it's not harsh enough. This nasty person has identified a host, published the host's address in a public forum and made false and damaging statements.  It's obvious that the OP's intent is not to seek advice from the community, it's solely to take revenge on a host who gave her a (well-deserved) negative review.  Otherwise, why publish the address?  Ms Tiffany deserves every soupcon of scorn heaped upon her miserable head.

What I don't understand is why the board moderators haven't deleted her OP given it's clearly defamatory.
