As a host I've lost alot during this time. Have i been upset and trying to fight it, OF COURSE. Its really time to stop complaining and issue the refunds instead of fighting them. Airbnb has been retroactively taking money from me that I already been paid and most likely are going to extend exigent circumstances policy past the April 19th date and I'm sure they'll keep on extending the situation comes under control.
Airbnb makes a lot of money by sitting on the money they have collected from guests and most guest don't know that we don't get paid until 24 hours after they have checked in. So right now airbnb just collecting interest on people's money. Why don't we just refund the money to people that in the long run Airbnb is going to refund them anyways. The more money refunded the more money Airbnb is going to lose out of their pockets. We're actually giving airbnb more money each day that were allowing them to keep guest money. Lawsuits take time, let's just hit them where it hurts them the most at the current moment and that's with their bank account. The more we we refund the more they have to refund , keep that in mind.
And for those people who say we shouldn't put all our eggs in one basket. You sound really ridiculous. Should I tell my daughter who is a manager at Ross don't be stupid putting your eggs all in one basket go find another job just in case.
In so many ways we work for airbnb, its not our own business. Who controls are payouts, who controls the refund, who controls whether our listings are listed or deactivated??
