SuperHost canceled INSIDE 24 HOURS

We were just canceled on by a superhost inside of 24 hours to arrival, hours before taking a 12 hour flight 4000 miles over the ocean to land on an island location.  We had had this reservation for 10 months. We ended up paying $2500!!! more to mad scramble and rebook! We were lucky to find anything at all even available.  We are heartbroken.  It's been a debacle, has taken so much energy away from a very special vacation we have been saving years for. We are currently waiting for a Specialist to get in touch with us. We still dont have any idea if they will help with our loss on this contract breach. 

We are not wealthy people. Does anyone know how to get them to actually call and talk to you ?? or have any positive outcome stories because I'm low on hope right now.
