Taxes, Laws and Procedures in State of Alaska

I am looking into renting out my room in my apartment for the first time. Airbnb will allow me to post with no issues but I would like to know if I need to talk with city hall or file some papers before making my listing live. Can someone help me?

You need to get a business license from the State of Alaska for two years. THEN, you need to apply to get a two-year B&B license from the following agency:

The B&B license from the Municipality of Anchorage is $290 and the business license from the State of AK is $100 for two years. Hope this helps.
