I would like to thank you Airbnb for what I hope proves to be as advertised.
Actually confirming identities, removing retaliatory reviews, giving us more information on guests, our categories, increased air coverage, etc. Very much appreciated.
Your easy to see costs for guests - nice.
I am looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship.
If I may make one suggestion (one but not small lol). Please start your own campaign to offset the hospitality lobbying and such. I realize we do not actually have news anymore - but if there is a way to stop the madness within reason, I believe it is worth the investment for all of us.
Again - thank you!
@Tamara682 how are they actually confirming ID? was there any specifics given? and let us see if they do indeed remove bad reviews, and "more information on guests", hmm, like what, precisely?
Categories .... they've added some new ones and promised by spring of 2023 you'll be able to apply to be included in a category, that will be a long process I suspect, and it's at least 6 months away.

Hi @Gillian166
The team have got back to me on the subject of ID - I hope this helps!
We’re always working on ways to help make our community as secure as possible for everyone. By verifying identity, users help build trust in the Airbnb community. There are a number of ways that we verify a user’s identity including comparing identification, such as a government ID like a drivers license, a passport or a national identity card with the information provided by a user, together with a selfie for photo matching. We may also use information such as a name, phone number, address, date of birth, or, in the US, a social security number. We’ll match this information with secure third-party databases.
Jenny 😊
The ONLY way to verify an identity in Norway is through the system of BankID. Or by the chip in the passport. I highly doubt that Airbnb will be given access to any of those strictly regulated systems, @Jenny So this verification promise is nothing to most European hosts...
We'll see. 😊
Almost all our guest are International tourist whatever airbnb do we still need to take on arrival their passport details and copy,
If a Thai national they have an ID card
@Tamara682 Awww, you must be a newbie to believe all the hype; but honestly, I can’t tell because airbnb took away our ability to view hosts profiles. I mean honestly, it’s a click for their techies to reactivate the view profile link—but still nothing.
I really hope the 2022 releases are going to live up to the hype; however, I am going to be realistic and have a wait-and-see attitude.
Hi @Gwen386
We've been updating everyone that's missed the ability to view profile to confirm that the view profile ability is coming back - hopefully it won't be too much longer.
Do pop into one of our official discussion threads to give us your thoughts once you've had a chance to mull things over!
Jenny
I checked, and I can see the profiles, listings etc of the hosts in this thread. Don’t know if I’ve been able to all the time, or if the ability to do so came back today?
Hello @Trude0
The ability to view the profiles only came back yesterday! It was an option that was sorely missed after the new change in the CC and after everyone complained, it was finally brought back.
