Unavailable Dates but Reservation Confirmed and Charged
Never experienced anything like this before. A friend has made a reservation that was immediately accepted and payment was taken. Shortly after, received a message from the host stating; "Regrettably, your dates are no longer available as they ave been booked by another guest." Correct me if I'm wrong, but if that was the case then shouldn't the reservation have been canceled and payment reversed?
@Chris13104 It looks like the host has already had a reservation from another platform and not synchronised their calendar properly. It is up to the host to correct this, cancel the reservation and Airbnb would then refund the money.
I suggest the guest contacts Airbnb, shows them the message and asks them to get the host to cancel the reservation.
