Why was my guest refunded when they cancelled 2 hours before checkin?
We have a moderate but flexible cancellation policy which allows for full refund if cancelled 5 days out. Guest booked 6 days out and then cancelled day of checkin. AirBNB refunded more than half the stay without any explanation or input from us. Any insights as to why? Any thoughts on how to either chat a representative or open a ticket to find out why? Need to understand how this happens.
@Lisa5647 Does the following explain it if you remove the cleaning fee from the equation?
ie the cleaning fee plus 50% is refunded

This is a moderately flexible option for guests that allows them to cancel for a full refund until 5 days before check-in. This means you won’t get paid if a guest cancels at least 5 days before check-in. If they cancel after that, you’ll get paid for every night they stay, plus 1 additional night, plus 50% for all unspent nights.
