Happy to be here. I am from Costa Rica so nixe weather and forests. Regards Eladio
in my case, I have to chat with potential guests most of the time during late night, and the screen brightness is just too much. Who else finds this feature a must have for the next update?
The dark mode is not dimming, but changing the colors, usually from white to black:
Some users like the dark mode also at daylight, just to save battery (for OLED displays).
The dark mode has been introduced by the operating system suppliers just recently and needs modification made by the app suppliers.
Wondering when the Airbnb app will show this new feature.
@Alejandro397 What, you can't change the brightness level of the screen on your phone? All phones have that option.

@Alejandro397 @Till-and-Jutta0 I am currently able to view this community board and my Airbnb hosting account in Dark Mode on my Apple iPad (7th gen model MW752LL/A) using the Mozilla Firefox browser and selecting “Turn on night mode”. I love it. Keeps my eyes from getting “tunnel vision” and less blue-light makes it so that I don't get insomnia.
This helped a lot. Que Será Será, What Will Be Will Be-CHANGED!
Found a google chrome extension that did this for me.
How do I turn it from white to black?
I am legally blind and the light just kills what little bit of sight I have! The contrast of white on black is much better for me.
A bigger font also helps, can you address that?
Oh! I see, like every blue-blooded American I just assumed everyone else has the same resources as me ☺️pardon my Apple privilege...carry on 🙂
Hi @Till-and-Jutta0 there's an easy tweak to use dark mode on the Airbnb app for Android, and the web page on Google Chrome as well, let me know if you still need help to change it!
Hii, what is the solution to have the android app in dark mode?
Oh no @Alejandro397 @Jesse-B--0 @Till-and-Jutta0 you can change that one yourselves.
There's a valid reason why words are written darker on light backgrounds - ask any visually impaired persons.
They foolishly changed the signage here in Auckland at Cornwall Park to black background with greenish blue writing and it's dreadful to try to read, and insulting to those who created such a legacy - one of the founders was visually impaired in later years and thought things through logically for all people.
Meanwhile I'm glad you have found a way to change your colours on your devices!
but what about the webpage ? it doesn't have dark mode ? by any chance ?
It may have dark mode but the original topic was about dark mode for the Airbnb smartphone app. I use the app to handle all reservations. It´d be nice for the developers to create a version with the dark mode. Facebook, Instagram, etc. have this dark mode option and it is quite handy at night.
Dark Mode would be so great for hosts, I work on my Airbnb listing at night mostly and all the white is very stressing to my eyes. I am sure I'm not the only host that would greatly appreciate this feature.
Hello @Austin326 , theres a very easy tweak to use Airbnb dark mode on Google Chrome (web) and Android, but i can't seem to find a solution for the iPhone app meanwhile, let me know if you need any help!
