hot tubs

Hi - My guests messed up my hot tub. I have to call the hot tub company to remove the water and clean it for the safety of my next guests.  How to I charge an extra cleaning fee?

@Marcia600 I thought hot tubs had to be emptied between guests anyway.

Can you take a look at the attached pictures and let me know if you have ever seen this before? It looks like a fish pond with dirt on the edges

@Marcia600 there are no attached pictures in your post.

But if the hot tub is only being serviced "weekly," I sure hope that means your minimum stay is 7 days.

@Marcia600   Yeah, what @Mike-And-Jane0  said. If you pursue a claim for this, you're basically announcing to the guests and to Airbnb that replacing the water and cleaning the tub is not what you usually do between guests, and that therefore your normal hot tub conditions are potentially unsanitary. Sounds like an easy way to get de-listed.

The hot tub is serviced Weekly. What has happened is above and beyond normal conditions for a hot tub. I have never seen this happen. But what you say does make sense though so I will have to contemplate… I certainly don’t want to be delisted

@Marcia600   You need to check regulations in your area/country for Hot Tubs and business use.  In the U.K. they should be emptied and refilled between all sets of guests, water/chemical balance checked twice daily and records to be kept etc.

@Marcia600    We are in North Carolina and our hot tubs are emptied, cleaned and refilled between each and every guest.  Please check your local and state regulations regarding hot tubs on rental properties, not private homes or hotels.
