Hi,
Since I have a very flexible cancellation policy, many of my cancelled bookings do not qualify for the financial help offered by Airbnb. The cancellations were clearly cancelled because of Covid-19 but since my guests cancelled within their cancellation policy I do not qualify for the financial help. If I had a stricter cancellation policy I would have qualified to receive 25%, I feel it is unfair. Has anyone else in this situation and found anyone to help or received special consideration in this matter?
It never was 25% @Yota0 , it was always 12.5%. (For those with 'strict' cancellation policies.)
- 25% OF YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY,
- 25% of 50% (strict) = 12.5%
- 25% of Nothing (flexible & moderate cancelled more than 5 days before) = Nothing.
thanks for your reply
@Yota0 Airbnb isn't going to give you "special consideration". There are thousands of hosts in the same circumstances you are.
thanks for your reply. I spoke to a number of Managers, supervisors at the call center and they gave me some hope this could happen. I agree there are thousands in the same situation, maybe it was wishful thinking.
@Sarah977 I think that was a bit of an unnecessarily nasty reply for an earnest question.
@Tiffany442 It wasn't intended to be nasty, nor was it. It was simply the facts. There have been hundreds of posts here over the past several weeks asking exactly the same thing. All a poster has to do is use the search engine here to see those posts and all the answers that say essentially the same thing I just did.
Hosts are wasting their time, which I'm sure could be put to better use, contacting Airbnb to plead their case about these refunds and grants. It won't make a bit of difference.
