the recent text message I received in the Seattle area about applying for short term rentals.

I saw the text message when I went to open it it vanished. A hack? A hoax? Why is it so difficult to get info from corporate? And the one time I do hear from them its about someone wanting to rent who had a question I could have answered in a text. Anyone else have some advice about either of these two issues?

We were on the phone for 45 minutes last night with someone (who was lovely) in India trying to figure out if we were phished.  Apparently no.  But the way this text was sent (also via email) was a joke.  It read:

"We’ve blocked your listing from hosting short-term stays because it’s not registered in Seattle. We’ve also had to cancel short-term stay bookings that will take place from February 15, 2020 onwards. Registration is required to comply with local short-term rental laws. Until you register, you can only receive bookings for 30 or more nights at a time. Want to switch back to short-term stays? First, you’ll need to register with the city."

This is entirely wrong.  We registered a month ago, and the permit number is on our profile.  Very very poorly handled!

I got the same message yesterday!  I don’t understand it since I also posted my short term license number on my AirBNB listing.  I received a text and email from Airbnb  with the same message that included a link but the link didn’t work in either one. It went to the AirBNB app but never opened. I can’t figure out if I’m supposed to do something since I thought I already did it when I posted my license number in the AirBNB site.   Who do I call/ask?

Hello fellow Hosts

I have been trying to remedy this issue (I am registered short term since Dec 21st 2020) and my number is posted on my listings. I can not update my listing to host short term stays and have spoken to many different people at AIRBNB and now a month and a half later I am dying here (missing guests and the much needed income) and Ive even called the city of Seattle to see if their are any issues with my GBL license (general business license) and my short term rental license. I spoke to a lady at City of Seattle and she barked at me that I have two short term rental licenses...I tried to ask her how that happened and she acted like it was my fault...I reiterated that I had updated my license and was a law abiding citizen and paid my taxes but there may be a glitch in the system...and then she said well she would forward this issue to someone who could help me....weeks later NOTHING!

I am getting really infuriated. Getting no help from eighter AIRBNB is also frustrating as I have been very loyal to AIR for years (since 2009) and this is how I get treated...

HELP HELP!!
