We are saddened and heartbroken by the events in Paris overnight. Our top priority is making sure our Airbnb Open attendees and employees are safe.

For those of you attending Airbnb Open: All events related to Airbnb Open that were scheduled to take place today have been cancelled. We understand that many of you would like to reconnect before you leave Paris and we hope you are able to do that before you leave. At this point, local authorities are asking people to stay where they are until further notice, so we encourage you to do so.

Please always follow the direction of local officials—they continue to be the best source of information to stay safe. In case of an emergency in Paris, dial 112 on any mobile phone or landline.

Heads up to all of you Hosts who are attending the Airbnb Open in Paris, you might be getting a call from Airbnb at some point if you haven't already, to check that you are all ok! We are also working at the moment on providing a status update within the App.

Something to help us confirm that you are all safe: in case you haven’t seen yet on Twitter – some attendees have been letting us know that they are safe by using the #airbnbopen hashtag on Twitter. In addition to our continued phone call checks that we are currently doing to confirm you are safe, this would also help; so if you have Twitter, drop us a note with the above hashtag. Or if you prefer, you can post in the Airbnb Open board too (we are keeping an eye out) in this thread.
