Can I be left without a payment?

I am new to Airbnb and will have my first guest this coming weekend 10/13 - 10/15. I was told by Airbnb VIA email that the payment will not be released until Nov. 6th. Could I be left without payment? Does the guest pay AirBNb who then holds it and then releases to me?

Mm I said this before to some one have a diffent bank account for things like this it's easy to keep track of things pluse a budget to keep things running until you are in your feet

I have also just hosted my first guests and when I went to transactions it told me there were none. Surely it must relect the the guests have paid the money in - even if it not been paid out to me yet. Why does Airbnb hold the money for 30 days?
