Cancellation to get the reward points

Hello, I am a host. My guest booked my place, but later discovered that there is a possibility to earn some reward points if booking my apartment through the AirBNB link on one of airlines websites. What is the best option for my guest? Cancel this booking and book it again through the reward points website? Is there any option to get those points without cancelation?

@Andrey10 I don't think the airline would award the points retroactively, but your guest should contact the airline directly about it.

Even if you have a Flexible cancellation policy, your guest would forfeit the Airbnb service fee so your guest would have to figure out if it was worth it.  If you have Moderate or Strict cancellation policy I doubt that cancelling would benefit your guest.

Another thing to note - DO NOT CANCEL ON THE GUEST'S BEHALF, as the penalties are steep.
