Deductible Expenses

Hey Guys,

I'm considering a few additions to my space and want some feedback. *Note: I have a tax guy who's solid, so he's also a major resource. However, he doesn't use ABNB like we do.

Expenses I'm considering: A smart TV or tablet device. ...and because travelers are likely to have a tablet, I'm leaning towards smart TV. This would enable my guest to watch the show of their choosing, assuming they stream. If they do NOT stream, I could always let them use my account.

So, this would be deductible right?

Also, aside from the typical expenses (chocolates, towels, etc)... what are some things you've paid for and then written off???

With Appreciation,

Michael

May I ask, if your Airbnb is a room in your house/annexe…. Are expenses still deductible? Thank you in advance

@Rebecca1827 go to gov.uk and look up 'rent a room', From memory you can either take the 7500 tax free allowance OR claim expenses as a deduction against your rent and pay tax accordingly. Depending on your Airbnb income vs other income one or other method will make most sense.
