Notification of refund

Hello everyone, I knew that Airbnb proceedes with the payment of a costumer only when the costumer arrives in the place he has booked. Since that, I can't understand why I've recived an email with a notification of refund even though I cancelled my booking  one month in advance of my arrival. Can anybody explain me what could have happened? Thank you in advance.

Hi @Elena489

Airbnb has zapped your card at the time of booking and is telling you its now going to refund the amount you paid.

The guest (you) pay on the day you book.

The host gets paid after the guest arrives.
