Screening guests

How do I view a guest's credentials?  Can I see their government id, or can I read the remarks or ratings from prior hosts?

I listed it as a requirement, but cannot find any confirmation of these details in my guests profile.

I am pretty sure you cannot see the ID.  That is more for the company itself to verify that the person is who they say they are.

You can read reviews of people by prior hosts, however, assuming that the guests are not brand new to Airbnb.  These are very helpful.  I would also recommend communicating with the guest before booking.  I am usually very reassured by a little bit of information about what brings them to my area, etc.  If you see no reviews, you can just say that, and ask if they are new to the system.

I would not be at all offended by some questions by a prospective host.  As a host, I have done this, and it has always been helpful, and friendly.
