Trying to change my e-mail address in my profile

Hi,

 

Trying to change my e-mail address in my profile from the current one to another one which is active and I have for years, I got the message "Profile update failed: Email has already been taken.".

 

How can this happen and what's the solution?

I have the same problem and Im not able to change the mail address on my profile.

Ok, I got this! 

 

1. Create a new ID with the email address you want to use. Even if it says "already in use", when you go to signup, it accepts. Do the drill.

 

2. Then go to settings and cancel our account. The reason - not comfortable or something. Don't say you'll come back.

 

3. Done. Just login with your previous email address (the one that needs to be changed), go again to profile and try changing to the cancelled one (the one you wished to change to).

 

4. It should work.
